Just thought we’d post about a very nice little add-on for Joomla that we found by accident! We don’t really use Joomla as a CMS, but we do a lot of work for customers who have sites built on it. One of them uses their site for promoting training courses and set it up themselves using Joomla and the Simple Calendar module – it’s a very nice site and we’ve been working on their SEO with them, but the thing that stood out was how good the calendar module was. We did a bit of digging and found it was actually written by a guy called Fabrizio Albonico and as well as just being really simple to use, it’s also free (although please give him a small donation if you use it).
If you need to advertise events, courses or anything else sorted by dates, it’s such an easy way to do it. You can get the module and read all about what it does on Fabrizio’s website – Simple Calendar - keep in mind this guy writes useful things and gives them away free to anyone who wants to use them, if you use it, give him a donation to at least cover his costs!
